Description
SEALPROOF is a durable NON-VOC visible film with superior adhesion to the following surfaces: wood, gelcoat, steel, carbon-graphite, fiberglass, aluminum and all types of composites. SEALPROOF gives a matte surface, for parts requiring a high gloss finish, SEALBRITE or SEALER GP should be used. SEALPROOF, when applied in conjunction with WATERSHIELD Release Agent, provides multiple releases and reduces down time due to cleaning. For a totally solvent-free mold release system, use WATERCLEAN, SEALPROOF and WATERSHIELD.
SEALPROOF BENEFITS
- ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE
- Thermal Stability (1 hour at 650°F)
- No solvents or alcohol
- Highly Penetrating
- No CFC’s, VOC’s, or ODC’s
- Air Dry or Heat Cure
- Fast cure
- Non-flammable carrier
SEALBRITEUSES
- Overcomes micro-porosity in mold surfaces.
- Eliminates the break-in time for new molds and/or tools.
- Extends the number of releases of a releasing agent.
- Reduces mold/tool down time.
- Restores a uniform surface when used over a mold repair or patch.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Before applying SEALPROOF, all previous waxes or oils should be removed using WATERCLEAN.
MOLD CLEANING
WATERCLEAN has been developed to replace solvent-based cleaning solutions. WATERCLEAN is a stand-alone product that can be used to clean and prepare molds and/or parts when further processing is needed. WATERCLEAN provides an effective alternative for the removal of surface contaminants without harming the working surface of the mold and/or part. WATERCLEAN is RECOMMENDED FOR MOLD PREPARATION BEFORE APPLICATION OF AN APPROPRIATE MOLD SEALER.
HOW TO APPLY SEALPROOF
SEALPROOF requires only a thin coat, which is easily applied by wiping with a paper towel. It can be applied by brushing with a soft, fine-bristled brush. Spraying is not recommended.
Application should be made to a small area and then repeated until entire surface is completely coated.
TO SEASONED TOOLS
1. Apply a thin coat of SEALPROOF.
2. Air-dry for 30 minutes (minimum).
3. Apply 2nd thin coat of SEALPROOF.
4. Air dry for 60 minutes before applying WATERSHIELD or WATERSHIELD V release agent.
NOTE
A heat gun can be used to speed drying time or mold/tool can be placed in an oven for a minimum of 15 min. at 150°C. SEALPROOF can be applied to the heated surface.
TO NEW TOOLS
Additional coats of SEALPROOF are necessary to seal a new tool. For polyester tooling, wait at least 24 hours for the styrene to dissipate before applying the sealer. For porous tools, apply 6 – 8 coats using the instructions above, only the last coat of SEALPROOF. For microporosity, 4 coats of SEALPROOF may be adequate.
NOTE
Do not attempt to apply SEALPROOF over any release agent. Keep tightly closed when not in use.
STORAGE & SHELF LIFE
Store in a dry area in the original closed container. DO NOT store at elevated or freezing temperatures. Shelf life – 12 months providing original container remains unopened.
